Director of Asian smart cities committee of AMF, Mahdi Bina, has pointed the digital entrepreneurship and creation of jobs in Digital Economy, as well as investment in data and digital infrastructure as the most today's essentials.
He added that "policy-makers should focus on digital job creation with limited skills and then on micro-work opportunities which might be the category with the highest potential for economic development and social benefits.
Digital technologies are reshaping business models and organization, and putting “soft skills”, such as information-processing, self-direction, problem-solving and communication, under the spotlight, Bina said.
Fostering investment in ICTs and complementary changes will help sustain innovation, productivity, and employment growth, Mahdi Bina added.
He continued, promoting competition in markets, creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurship and supporting the development of new goods and services enabled by ICTs, will sustain the growth of new markets and bolster public confidence. Supporting workers in their transition to new jobs will facilitate adjustment and reduce social costs.
Active labor market policies, income support, lifelong learning, and more responsive educational systems are more critical than ever in the digital economy. All together we can meet the smart city, Director of Asian smart cities committee of AMF said.
